For a couple of years now I have been a big fan of Fenix flashlights, so when I was asked to test the new PD32 for Fenix, I jumped at the chance.

Why Fenix? Well, at first it was the price. As with anything else, the price compared to other flashlights was the most important factor to me. I was way off on this as I found that many of the leading competitors had much more impressive lights, at a much higher price. After buying a few of the higher priced lights, I decided to give Fenix a try, and boy was I surprised. My first light, and still among my favorites is the PD20. Lightweight, small, and very powerful. I was hooked. Now, the PD32.

The PD32 is a 315 lumen powerhouse that runs on two, CR123A Lithium, or one 18650 Li-ion rechargeable batteries. It throws a very impressive beam up to about 450 feet. All in a small, lightweight, tough package.

I bought this station through SRA Soldering Products. It arrived promptly and it was easy to setup (remember to remove the set screw from the vacuum pump! There's a reminder sticker on the case). The hot air station heats up quickly and is pretty quiet. It's amazing to watch solder paste melt and flow. Things that were once nearly impossible to do at home, like removing or installing surface-mount components, are easy to do. It took me about 15 minutes of practice to figure out how to reliably pull some SMD chips from a junk board. One of the best features is the smoke removal tool on the soldering iron. It's nice to not have to hold your breath or have smoke in your face when soldering. Overall, it's a really great tool at a good price.

I applied online to Fenix as a prototype tester and was lucky enough to be chosen. I was sent this flashlight and tested it extensively for a couple weeks at work and at home during a 4 day power outage thanks to an October Bizzard here in the NE. I work as a police officer and used this light every night during foot patrols and traffic stops.

This is a short review of the Fenix PD-32 flashlight. I own several high end flashlights, mostly by Streamlight and also one Surefire. I use flashlights regularly as I work night shift. The flashlight I used as a comparison for this review was my current favorite, the Streamlight Strion LED rechargable. The Strion retails for about $100 online. The Fenix PD-32 prototype I recieved for testing was my first Fenix. I have never used one before.

I just returned from the holidays that I got the camera for. 14 days in Alaska. The camera did nearly everything I asked of it. A couple points I would like to point out. *I used firmware version 1.0 while on holiday, I now see version 1.1 is out, but does not appear to address any of the points I had issue with*

One thing that has me puzzled is when taking a photo in the camera's B&W mode, it will not focus properly if fully zoomed out. This appears to be a glitch to me, it makes no sense, however it is what I experienced while shooting. I got to work with the video more, and I had very bad luck getting it to focus. However I did notice if I ran the zoom out and THEN turned on the video, it seemed to be able to grab focus on the subjects much better. Again, doesn't make sense to me, but I will be interested in others that try it and if they have the same experience. Overall, the Nikon Coolpix P500 is pretty impressive. Although there are a few flaws, the camera's features make up for them. Below are the major pros and cons I found after using the camera for a few hours.

Pros:
- HUGE 36x Optical Zoom (at full zoom I could see buildings 5 miles away as if they were two blocks away)
- Relatively lightweight and compact, much smaller than I expected.(compared to an entry level DSLR)
- Up to 240 FPS video, nice slow motion.
- Manual controls, a must for any experienced camera user.
- Buttons well laid out and simple to find and use.

Cons:
- Image quality was good but it was pretty much expected, nothing extraordinary for this price range. If you prefer higher quality images over features in this price range, an entry level DSLR such as the D3100 is the way to go.

I bought this lens as my entry into shooting macro and haven't been at all disappointed. I was concerned about the claimed 7.2" minimum focus but apparently, that's only for the auto-focus because focusing manually I can get down to 2 or 3 inches. All images are superbly sharp with good color reproduction. This lens will not disappoint, however, if distance is a concern you may wish to look at the Sigma 150mm Macro or Nikon's own 105mm Micro lens. After being so satisfied with this Nikon 60mm I broke down and bought the Sigma 150mm macro as well and I'm glad I did. Both have their specific uses and sometimes the shorter focal length of this Nikon is exactly what I need for a specific situation. The Sigma is at least as sharp and perhaps a little more versatile as well as being (arguably), one of the best macro lenses currently available.

Who would have thought that Nikon could have improved on the already excellent 60mm micro? How?

1) It no longer extends when focusing.

2) Hood is now included, and is bayonet style, not screw on.

3) AFS. Quiet focusing.

4) 9 nine rounded aperture blades (instead of 7 straight) for very pleasant bokeh.

5) As sharp as the old one.

6) New Nano crystal coatings supposed provide better color and contrast (only time will tell on this one).

Is it worth the upgrade? Check this list and see if these are important to you. If not, you can pick us a used 60mm AF(D) micro or maybe still find a new one for less money. As I was not replacing but buying a short macro for the first time, I got this latest version and am very very happy with it.

Is it worth the higher price? I certainly think so, but others may disagree. Shop around, there are better prices at good stores. Avoid Broadway photo and... Read more

The air compressor works great. I have 2 of them. they both have a similar problem........THe nipple that the air hose plugs into, is not a standard type air nipple.....so, if i want to change hose types, from the cheesy included hose, I have to take the head off the compressor, and get a npt pipe tap, and re-thread the head. The 2 compressors I have, both have different types of nipples,and the threaded nipple is not a standard npt thread........ so the hoses are not compatiable with one another. Whoever does the quality control should know this, and get someone to look at this problem. I won't buy another one.

worked like a champ! I have an RV with tires that require 115 psi. this was not a problem for this compressor. The RV also has an "air ride" system for the axels and the 5th wheel hitch. This compressor had not problem filling the system to the required level. good price

I did a LOT of research before purchasing this particular compressor, and despite the issues that some people have had, I still felt it was going to be the best way to go. Its a drag to buy something, then have to fix it out of the box, but after doing the modifications, this little thing is awesome and reliable.

When it arrived, I connected it for 30 seconds to make sure it worked, then got busy working on the issues I had read might be awaiting me ... and they were there, sure as heck.

Issue #1: There is a relay in back by the switch and they did a lousy job soldering it; install solderless connectors. Additionally, my relay was bad, so I replaced with better quality. (Open the back slowly and carefully). -$6 fix, 30 min repair-

Issue#2: The connector for the hose is an odd duck, so you may want to tap out the head and replace with one more usable. This is not as tough and frightening a job as you think. do some research. -$5 (connector and... Read more
